Olympic Torch Malfunction – during the lighting of the final flame there was a major hiccup, there was supposed to be four pillars rise from the ground – there was supposed to be four people light the torch on the four pillars, but when one of the pillars didn’t rise it left one person standing with nothing to do …
The four people were : Catriona Le May Doan, Steve Nash, Nancy Greene and Wayne Gretzky, Catriona was left with a pillar, she took the incident in her stride and just acted casual, waiting and waiting.
The Olympic staff has yet to respond – but did say they would publicly approach and cover the incident with questions answered.
